Newstead Bonsai & Garden CentreThe Newstead Bonsai Centre is now open again on Mondays for all your Bonsai, Japanese Garden and general gardening supplies! 

Our popular garden nursery & craft centre and bonsai centre prides itself on providing customers with the very best horticultural and bonsai supplies supported by our friendly and knowledgeable staff.

 

Our opening times for Spring through to Autumn are:

  • Monday 10am - 4pm
  • Tuesday CLOSED all day
  • Wednesday 10am - 4pm
  • Thursday 10am - 4pm
  • Friday 10am - 4pm
  • Saturday 10am - 4pm
  • Sunday 10am - 4pm

Conveniently located to main routes including the M1, M62, A1 - why not bring the family - we are 1 mile from Nostell Priory Stately Home and very close to the Freeport shopping mall at Castleford.

We have an on-site coffee shop - JJ’s serving fresh coffee, tea, refreshments and a wide range of freshly prepared home-cooked food, from breakfast to lunch - please come and pay us a visit - you will be most welcome!

Bonsai Classes & Workshops for 2009

We have now published our new class list that runs through to Spring and Summer 2009. We have the usual Open Workshops and Midweek workshops, which are as popular as ever, plus workshops covering Junipers, Larch, Maples and Satsuki Azaleas - plus our hugely successful Bonsai Academy continues through 2009!

3rd Newstead Bonsai Extravaganza - show report

Newstead 3 AwardOver 180 trees and many suiseki displays were displayed at the 3rd Newstead exhibition - the standard was higher than ever for the show.

The exhibition again brought together the best exhibition of Bonsai under one roof in the UK. Demonstrations through the weekend by Japanese Master, Mr Nobutaka Sakuma and Danny Use were watched by hundreds of visitors.
