New Records Set at Sunday’s Beginners Class With 23 Participants!!!
Our 2-day Bonsai Beginners Course has always been popular and we have regularly had 15/16 people participating. Last Sunday’s Day One session literally provided us with a full house with 23 new bonsai enthusiasts enjoying a great atmosphere and an inspiring first class.
People had travelled from many different locations including Cumbria, Lancaster, Huddersfield, Hull and Lincoln.
We have previously had beginners from as far afield as Luton, Coventry, Birmingham, Merseyside, the North-East, and Edinburgh, so clearly distance is not considered a problem.
After John’s welcoming introduction to the subject the students then went on to discuss and mix various bonsai composts. Some pruning work was followed by a carvery lunch which seemed to go down well with everyone, including John’s helpers!
The afternoon session featured repotting and styling demonstrations with every student finally getting their hands dirty and repotting a tree.
It is rewarding to see how much they enjoyed the day and how all of them can’t wait for Day Two.
